The wife's beer
Heerlijke, veelbelovende cover.
Maar vooralsnog bleef ik steken bij het essaytje over 'Proto-Photocopy-Lore':
"One important intermediate stage between the broadside and the photocopy-lore traditions appeared in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century with the development of the postcard industry. Originating in Europe in the 1870s as a cheap and convenient form of communication, the postcard had by the turn of the century become an enormous succes. However, a considerable proportion of the early cards did not carry the scenic views with which we now associate these cards. Instead, they contained humorous verses, stories and parodies which had often previously circulated in the oral tradition or had been reproduced on broadsides, and which were later to be found in the photocopy-lore tradtion."
